Here Is an interview that ive conducted with Ashley better known as Greeds!
Introduce yourself:Hi. My name is Ashley-Renee, but I’ve been nicknamed “Greeds” for a while now. I’m 22 years old, from Brooklyn, NY. I’m super tiny, but I’ll never lose my big voice. I eat people, kill faces and lick art for a living.
What would be a typical day in your life?:
Well, it really depends on the day. Most of the time – When I’m not in class, you can find me in a museum/art gallery, at a new restaurant or shopping. During the summer, I’m a free spirit and during the winter, I hibernate.
How would you describe your style?:
The only way I can really describe my style is by saying that it’s definitely a reflection of my mood. It goes from dark to fun overnight - Sometimes it’s conservative and sometimes it’s spontaneous – But always feminine. I’ve always been the type to have a transitional style; it’s never just remained one way. I’m really not sure if that’s a good or bad thing… But no matter what, I make sure I wear what works for me.
What are 5 things you can’t live without?:
My Blackberry, Palmer’s Shea Butter body lotion, Vaseline, a bra and chocolate.
Favorite designers/brands/or trends at the moment:
As far as designers, my all-time favorites have always been Coco Chanel (I love Karl Lagerfeld, as well… But Coco Chanel, herself, was an all around amazing woman), Yves Saint Laurent and Miu Miu (Miucchia Prada). I have a love for most designers and I admire many of them, but my heart will never stray from these three… EVER.
See, my thing with “trends” is that once I like a trend, I get attached and I never let it go. I don’t overdo it, but usually when I like something, I like it forever. So some of my favorites are: acid washed denim – black or blue, cropped tops, super high wedges and platforms, mismatched earrings, lace-ups from boots to heels, all kinds of chunky jewelry and Jade everything from nail polish to necklaces.
Who are you most inspired by?:
I have to say my mother. She’s a remarkable woman in all senses of being remarkable – From her career to her style. I got all of my fashion sense from her and luckily, her motivation and willingness to succeed rubbed off on me, as well. She’s always been into style, fashion, presentation, good food, traveling, living well, spirituality and fulfillment. She instilled the desire and taste for these factors of life in me. Luckily, she’s always blessed me with beautiful things – From clothes, bags and shoes to truly meaningful experiences – and she’s always given me the opportunity to have the most in life.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?:
I’d love to live everywhere! I don’t even think I could choose, there are so many options – So many things to see, so much art, so much beauty, different cultures, interesting cuisines. I want to experience it all. I’d love to live in Italy, Paris, Madrid, India, Cambodia, Greece, Ethiopia, Peru and the list goes on. I’m visiting Madrid, Spain on August 31st, and I might even be considering studying abroad. Since I’m an Art History major with minors in Philosophy and History, it would be an extremely beneficial thing to do. I also have the desire to take part in many humanitarian efforts, so in order to really fulfill that aspect of my life, I need to temporarily live in a variety of different areas.
Where are you your favorite places to shop?:
No place special really, some sites and some actual stores - American Apparel, Barney’s New York, Forever 21 (mainly the website), Henri Bendel, ASOS, Top Shop, Uniqlo, street vendors, Urban Outfitters, Sephora, LUSH, Anna Sui, Zara and thrift shops.
Whats your favorite quote/saying?:
“No price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.” – Friedrich Nietzsche.
& to end it all off, what can we expect from you in the future?:
Remaining true to my expression is the only thing I can honestly promise to bring forth into the future.
